As many of you know, Maria Silvia and I are planning on beginning a neighborhood youth center which would use soccer, and basketball workshops, English tutoring, Foosball, and basically anything we can think of to be a serving presence in the lives of Cordoba’s urban youth. We will also be actively presenting the gospel both through our lives, and through 10 minute devotions before each event, and activity we have. We have been thinking a lot about what to name the youth center, but everything we came up with seems cheesy, overused, or like it doesn’t quite capture the essence of what we want the youth center to be. Soooo…. We decided to ask you, our friends and partners in ministry for help. Please use the comment space to help us name our youth center, or if you are too embarrassed and shy about your ideas (because we want everyone to feel like there are no stupid ideas when one is brainstorming) you can e-mail it directly to us at sasharasmussen@gmail.com. It can obviously be in English, and we will translate it to see if it would work in Spanish. We will post the different options on the sight, without the name of the source if you specify you would like it that way. This should be fun! If you have to have competition to motivate you, then it is a competition and the winner will gate a Major Award. Let your collective imaginations run wild!

A New Humanity
“The Church is called to be one body of believers that transcends the differences of race and culture through the creation of a new humanity. There may be different languages but there is only one gospel. There may be different forms of worship but there is only one God. There may be different cultural settings but there is only one church.” (taken from Anthropological Insights for Missionaries by Paul G. Heibert, p 23).
